History
PROST Los Angeles was created in 1976.
Alicia Provencher, Sally Kiernan, Anastasia Kostoff Mann, Susan Tanzman, and Terry Alonzi were part of the nucleus.
There were about eight or nine women who came up with this idea in reaction to SKAL’s not allowing women in their organization. Los Angeles decided to break off from the other Prost Groups, one being Denver, whose concept was allowing only women, we were the first to take both female and male. One of the first meetings was at the Bel Air Hotel for lunch to make a decision as to what we should do. It was decided to move forward and begin our special luncheon group.
There was the usual meetings once a month and then most people would stay until five or six o’clock – those were the days. It was fantastic and the friendships that started and have continued are some of the most precious relationships we have had with friends in our industry.
Today, we remain one of the most prestigious groups in the Travel Industry.
